College Equipment Grants Program
+ Deadline is November 1, 2024
Description
The Spectroscopy Society of Pittsburgh established the College Equipment Grant Program to assist smaller universities and colleges in the purchase of analytical instrumentation to be used by their students to explore spectroscopic methods. The funding, up to $5000, can be combined with existing university money to fund the purchase or upgrade of new instrumentation, or used to purchase accessories or equipment that will expand the ability of students to utilize current spectroscopic instruments in new analytical methods. Instruments across the electromagnetic spectrum, including X-ray, UV, Visible, near IR, IR, and on through the THz range are included in the equipment accepted for funding. In addition, submissions with a focus on hands on student learning and used for analyses directly related to real world applications are highly valued.
All public or private colleges and universities located within Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia, Maryland, Virginia, New Jersey, New York, and Delaware with an enrollment of no more than 7500 undergraduate students are eligible to apply for this equipment grant.
Institutions are only eligible to receive a grant once every two years; therefore, personnel from 2023-24 Grantee Institutions are not eligible for a grant in 2024-25, and thus should not apply this year.
