The SACP and SSP is dedicated to promoting science to the scientific community, students, and teachers. We achieve this goal by providing symposia, lectures, and workshops.

If you are interested in becoming a member of the SACP/SSP or volunteering to help promote science education through our various programs, we encourage you to considering joining the societies.

Monthly Meetings

Our monthly meetings, held on the third Wednesday of the month, are open to the public. The meetings are held in-person at Duquesne University, centrally located in the heart of Pittsburgh, and virtually to those who cannot attend physically.

The Technology Forum at 5:30 usually hosts a speaker and topic of general science interest. Dinner, following the Technology Forum, is a mere $10.00, ($5.00 for students), and that includes free parking. The Technical Program, after dinner, hosts world-renowned chemists and spectroscopists.

Lectures + Symposia

The SACP and SSP presents a variety of lectures and symposia for members of the scientific community throughout the year. The majority of our lectures and symposia are open to the public and some are even free of charge.

The SACP and SSP offers various workshops throughout the year, ranging from teaching workshops all the way to job searching workshops. Our workshops are hands-on and always led by industry professionals.
